Hi, I have printer/scanner Canon i-SENSYS MF3010 Printer works fine, but scanner is supported only by sane 1.0.24 http://www.sane-project.org/sane-backends.html
When it will be available for opensuse? any ideas?

You can install it from here:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/jsmeix/openSUSE_13.1/
As to when it will be added to the standard openSUSE distribution, I have no idea.
You might want to file a bugreport though:

Am having similar problems with a Brother DCP195C, printer working fine but not scanner, have downloaded and installed brscan3-0.2.11-5.x86_64.rpm and brscan-skey-0.2.4-1.x86_64.rpm which are the drivers listed for my model at Brother Solutions Center
linux-9md0:/home/sosaidh # brscan-skey -l
DCP-195C : brother3:bus2;dev3 : USB Active
linux-9md0:/home/sosaidh # rpm -qa| grep brscan-skey
brscan-skey-0.2.4-1.x86_64
I’ve hplip-sane, sane-backends & sane-backends-autoconfig installed in software manager wondering if i need xsane? Or is it something to do with opening ports?
get ‘Failed to scan unable to connect to scanner’ message when i open simple scan. I’m using 13.1 Gnome desktop. Thanks for any help
