Hello All,

I received this error message when restarted smb services.

Please advise and Thanks in advance,

How are you starting it??

Looks like it started ok anyway???

symstemclt restart smb.services

I assume “systemclt” is a typo. If a service is not already running use start.


systemctl start smb.service

“restart” is for an already running service. “systemctl restart smb.service” is equivalent to the two commands:


systemctl stop smb.service
systemctl start smb.service

If the service is not running the stop fails hence the error.
