Samba => open firewall unable to tick the box

In yast Samba-server there is a box to be ticked to open the Firewall.

For unknown reasons the system does not allow me to tick the box. (disabled)

any idea ?

That most likely is still pointing at the old SuSEfirewall, where we now have firewalld. Go to YaST Security and Users - Firewall and open the port there

TBH, I would just configure via the YaST Firewall utility. Choose the zone and then ‘samba’. It will take care of the relevant ports for you. Firewalld also has it’s own GUI (which I prefer), called firewall-config(package of the same name). It will open ports 139 and 445 (TCP) in the appropriate zone.
