samba copy folder content fails

On 12.3 Gnome, using Samba,

users attempt copy content (their own files and folders) within ~/Documents

From: <pc-A-address>/<username>/home/Documents

InTo: <pc-B-address>/<username>/home/Documents

Sometimes they find only partial content copied

Any ideas ?

While writing above a black warning window popped up telling me samba was busy trying to finish actions (copy) with two choices Cancel or (was it) Disconnect.

Neither choice seemed make a difference, eventually managed post my incomplete message, then close browser in short gaps between warning pop ups.

Then power off to restart.

Some command choices eg “Copy To” seem not like to do through Samba, or may this be file permissions ? .

It could be a permissions issue, perhaps. Depends how the access is
permitted by samba in A and in B. Not enough info to say from here.

Is this being executed/facilitated by a user logged onto A, or B or a
third computer?
And is username same on A and B? (and C if that’s the facilitator).
And what’s the contents of the [stanza] in smb.conf on A that dictates
sharing of folder Documents on A?
