samba and windows vista

Hi,
I am having problems with samba, I went to the yast samba setup and thought I configured it but now I am stuck. I just want to really set up sharing my printer and one folder. any help will be appriciated I have a linksys router, windows vista home 32 on a laptop, opensuse 11.1 64 with windows xp home 32bit running in seemless mode on a virtualbox please help!!

Follow the HowTos here:

Take care to

  1. Open the samba ports on your firewall, while testing it might help to
    disable the firewall.
  2. Be sure to add Samba Users with:

smbpasswd -a <username>
\code]

If you are still having problems it will help if you post the contents of:
/etc/samba/smb.conf

The HowTos on Swerdna's site should answer most of your questions.

sweet, smbpasswd -a worked great. The only other issue I have is I can not see my windows vista shred folder on my Suse box but I think I can figure it out from here thanks alot!
