running OpenSuse 11.4 and want to update / upgrad to 12.1 with DVD - doable

good day dear community

running OpenSuse 11.4 and want to update / upgrad to 12.1 -

Well i have a DVD with 12.1 - what should i take care for. Do i have to keep something in mind while doing an upgrade with the DVD?

don’t need to keep anything in mind, except backup first and BE SURE to
follow one of the documented, approved and recommended how-tos:

oh, and VERY important: did i mention to backup FIRST (because upgrade
are prone to failures, and if you have a good, off machine, backup you
then have an excellent chance of not losing any data, and you can then
do a format and install, flow the old data back in and away you go…

The most important detail: full backup. The second: Try it first, in the
same machine if possible.
