running FireFox Nightly build ==> Inconsistency detected by ld.so:

I’m running Opensuse 12.1 with the LXDE desktop.

I’ve downloaded the firefox-11.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2 file from the ftp.mozilla.org site and then extracted it to a folder in my home directory. I then tried to execute the program as i’ve done in opensuse 11.4 but it fails as follows.

spcwh2@linux-tbyf:~> /home/spcwh2/firefox/firefox
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-open.c: 596: _dl_open: Assertion `_dl_debug_initialize (0, args.nsid)->r_state == RT_CONSISTENT’ failed!

is this a missing dependency ?

i’m looking for some help to resolve this issue.

           Thanks

                Chuck H.

i forgot to mention that I have the 64 bit version of the OS installed.

That is the clue I forgot to consider.

i uninstalled the 64 bit version of firefox version and installed the 32 bit version and its dependencies.

Then after that I tried the “nightly” version again and it seems to be working fine.

thanks DenverD, I’ve got a question on editing menus on the LXDE desktop, so I’ll create a post over there.
