Runaway scroll bar in firefox 3.5.5 running on openSuSE 11.2

When I single click on the scroll bar arrows to move one line at a time, Firefox scrolls takes control and scrolls way down (usually to the bottom of the article) before it stops. Most irritating. I tried solving this problem on the Mozilla website but that proved to be useless. any ideas?

BTW the problem just occurred on this site.

Could this be a graphics issue.
Do you have a driver installed for Graphics?

No special driver that I know of. A peek at “My Computer Screen” reveals that I have an “nv” driver on a GeForce 6150 chip.
I have noticed that the same behavior happens anytime I use the scroll arrows. Even in the forum reply text box in which I write this reply.

If you didn’t add the nvidia repo, you might want to do that. You can post your repo list for me:

zypper lr -d

A OneClick is avail for nvidia here
NVIDIA - openSUSE

Thank you for your reply.
Here is what you asked for…

aps@laidback:~> zypper lr -d

First - Can you tell me if you know how to use the repository manager in Yast?
Here is a bit of a guide:
Repository Management - openSUSE Forums

Because we need to do some serious editing. I’m going to work on the list and post it back, but I may be 10 mins or so

All you really need IMO are: **Red **= changes from current setting

4 | Packman Repository | Packman Repository | Yes | Yes | 90 | rpm-md | Index of /pub/packman/suse/11.2 |

6 | download.nvidia.com-opensuse_1 | NVIDIA Repository | Yes | Yes | 99 | rpm-md | ftp://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.2/ |

16 | repo-non-oss | openSUSE-11.2-Non-Oss | Yes | Yes | 98 | yast2 | Index of /distribution/11.2/repo/non-oss |

Now. I see you have build service repo’s in there for both kde and gnome.
Question: Are you using kde or gnome mainly?

It’s really not necessary to have those build service repo’s, especially not gnome ones.

Are you happy to change to the above or do you need build service?
