Run in Terminal option on a Desktop file

Haven’t found any references to this, just wondering where the “Run in Terminal” option has gone when creating a link to an application on the Desktop in 11.4/KDE4.6. Can do it manually by editing the .desktop file, but there is no option in the Link setup…?
Thanks, John.

Isn’t it under “Advanced Options”?

Not on mine - Only check boxes in there are : Read, Write, Exec, & Special…

instead of just putting the executable name in the "Create new > Link to
Application > Application (tab) > Command: (blank) like say:

top

try this:

konsole -e top

or, if you prefer you can use ‘xterm’ instead of konsole

Hmmm, no idea. I don’t see any of those checkboxes. Maybe it would be best if you described where and how exactly you are trying to create what exactly. If I create a link to an application - regardless whether plama desktop, Folder View widget, Konqueror - all the options are there.

These checkboxes… under Properties>Permissions>Advanced Permissions…
John

That is the tab for the Permissions. Try that other tab, “Application”. And there’ll be a button “Advanced options” where you can specify whether your application should be run in a terminal etc.

Thanks, John.
