“run command” remains in the task bar. How do I get rid of this?
Not sure what you mean by that. And which version of Opensuse are you running?
I believe its 11.1 and what I mean is, you’ll notice when an application is open it is also shown in the task bar. When I close run command, the box will close but run command (with the little sprocket thing next to the text) remains in the taskbar. Below should be a screenshot.
