When building packages it usually takes several build attempts, usually adding missing dependants or cleaning up desktop entries, or more seriously adding additional command line options to the configure and make commands to accommodate different distribution anomalies.
The consequence is that the package release number increases rapidly.
Is there method to add a directive to the spec file to give the release number an additional sub-position?
