Run a Network File server.

Hello Suse Folks.
How are you?
I have a windows active directory and want to run a linux file server. I looked at Yast and saw many good options, Can you advice me?
My goal is read Windows AD users in Opensuse to apply permission to my directories.

Thank you so much

Cheers.

I opened yast and Click on NFS server and enable it and click next and select a folder to share but how can i use Windows to see it?

Are you sure you have installed support in Windows to open NFS “shares”?
IIRC, it is not installed by default.

And not available in all Windows editions… If I’m right, only Windows 7 Ultimate had a NFS client. I don’t know for Windows 8.

Here are all important steps listed for integrating Windows 8 in a Samba-Domain: Linux and Windows 8 Interoperability

I wouldn’t use NFS for this, since Windows natively handles SMB. Just
use the Samba file server.
