RTL8821CE on Leap 15.4

Hi,
I just passed from Leap 15.3 to 15.4, and no ssid appear on the little box where they should appear. I tried to download a driver with yast on the following page, but the process blocked: https://software.opensuse.org/package/rtl8821ce-kmp-default. Would it be another way to solve my problem?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Here some infos:

Thanks a lot for your help. I’m sorry for de delay of response, I didn’t have access to this computer this week-end.
I deleted de repos.
I searched for rtl8821ce-kmps and rtw88-kmps in yast, I didn’t find anything.
I restarted the computer, and unfortunatly it doesn’t work.
Here’s some infos:

Post:

uname -a

Here it is:

uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 5.14.21-150400.22-default #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Wed May 11 06:57:18 UTC 202
2 (49db222) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Same here:

02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter [10ec:c821]
        Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:831a]
        Kernel driver in use: rtw_8821ce
        Kernel modules: rtw88_8821ce

And working, but I use no preempt kernel, only default:

What should I do next? Thanks again.

Try to use default non-preempt kernel.
And do not split output - post command with output together.

5.7.1 Realtek RTL8821CE support

Support for the Realtek RTL8821CE WiFi chip has been added. For more information, see RTL8821CE - REALTEK.

What do you think she/he is using?

But this is the problem:

juin 22 10:20:26 localhost kernel: rtw_8821ce 0000:01:00.0: rfe 4 isn’t supported

Same error with rfe 2 was not solved by the kernel-team.
it was solved by Realtek with kernel 5.11 or 5.12.

Maybe my package is working, but it is build new on OBS, I will give the URL later.

You can use this two packages:

https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Sauerland:/hardware/15.4/x86_64/rtw88-kmp-default-git20220623_k5.14.21_150400.22-lp154.2.1.x86_64.rpm
https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/Sauerland:/hardware/15.4/x86_64/rtw88-ueficert-git20220623-lp154.2.1.x86_64.rpm

The second one is for using secure boot:
https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/560900-Help-on-booting-to-a-5-14-11-kernel-stable-backports-kernel-with-secure-boot-(or-must-I-disable)?p=3073187#post3073187

Thanks for your answers.
I don’t split the outputs myself, the forum does it. Even if I edit my post and erase the code that is added between the two parts of the code I want to give you, it reappears again and again. ]
Could you tell me how I can avoid using the preempt kernel? I’m a very beginner, with a friend of mine who is helping me.
I will come back to the forum next monday or tuesday.

Behaviour and kernel were changed in Leap 15.4. Simply do nothing (don’t add specific kernel parameter).

The Greate !
with these drivers, I started working(again) on my laptop WIFi in AP mode !!

You have a lot of FONT and COLOR tags there. Please try, next time, to avoid fonts and colours to be copied with the copy/past.

Also, I doubt that you get that split when you copy/paste in one move (as is what should be done). Once split and then with all those bewildering FONT and COLOR, I assume that removing some CODE /CODE in between confuses the post editor.

Because you have downloaded the drivers and not enabled the Repo.
So you get not the signing key for all rpms in that Repo.

This key has nothing to do with the uefi cert/uefi-key for secure boot.
The cert rpm contains the mok-key for the ko-file inside the kmp.rpm…

Ok. Added repository:

USR> sudo zypper addrepo home\ Sauerland\ hardware.repo

Enabled : Yes
GPG Check : Yes
Autorefresh : No
Priority : 99 (default priority)

Repository priorities in effect: (See 'zypper lr -P' for details)
      90 (raised priority) : 1 repository
      99 (default priority) : 11 repositories
USR>

Now this repository has priority = “Default” . 99.
Leave this priority or set, for example, 98 ?

Serg

If there is no other package with the same name in another Repo, you can use 99, 98, 01 or 120…
Priority is only used by installing a new package…

Also zypper is not switching any installed package to another Repo by default.

But now its on Voici to answer, its her/his thread.
