rt5572sta & 8192du problems

Hi

Trying to connect preferably at 5GHz (but also problem at 2.4).

Using usbs - TL-WDN3200 (rt5572sta) and a RealTec (8192du).

Have compiled the drivers, modprobed, depmod and both show up OK in lsmod.

Neither usb will connect reliably, the rt5572 not at all, the 8192du occasionally but soon goes down. Other usbs using e.g. rt2800 connect fine, but they are not 5gHz.

Any advice on where to look next?

Thanks

John F.

I know nothing of the rt5572sta.

I am working on the driver for the RTL8192DU in preparation for getting it into
the kernel. I have done minimal testing using 5G - most is at 2.4 GHz.

You can obtain my source from http://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8192du.git.

Thanks Larry, it’s your source I am using.

In that case, a discussion on https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8192du/issues will
bring in the other users of that driver. As there are no active threads there, I
was not aware of any problems. I have noticed that my 5 GHz AP does not always
appear in the NM applet; however, I have had no stability problems with the 2.4
GHz radio.

Thanks

Just to confuse me completely, this morning the faithful old rt2800 usb is crashing the system completely. The 8192du is connecting stably at 54mb. No 5GHz in NM as you say.
