I am trying an 11.3 install using rsync. Is there an 11.3 rsync site? I’ve visited many in openSUSE Download Mirrors - 11.3, but it turns out that they are not at 11.3. :sarcastic:
I already have a 11.2 DVD. It’s possible to first install, then upgrade… but I’d rather start fresh, if possible.
There are already so many iterations because of the broken links during the download. It would be nice to only download and complete everything using one openSUSE version.
I would just use a Opensuse 11.3 live CD iso or Network ISO it will automaticly install all the appropriate repos and update yums for you. You can either choose between KDE or GNOME, clean install or upgrade?

Ok, so you are attempting to repair an already downloaded ISO image file, which contain errors. You
are not attempting to install (ie, boot) and tell yast to use rsync - which is not possible.
Please be precise in your wording.
Ok, here you have the list of mirrors: <http://mirrors.opensuse.org/>. Notice that several report
having rsync available. There is a separate list for each version, including 11.3
Also, notice that you do not need a mirror close to you, speed is NOT that important. You already
have the full iso downloaded, you only need to correct the errors.

I don’t understand at all what you say in this paragraph. Please rephrase.

True. I have a partial .iso file so far. The site: openSUSE Download Mirrors - 11.3 was placed in the post to help with clarification.

True, as stated. The problem is that the page for 11.3 does not have any vrs. 11.3 working sites, that I can find - in either N or S America. Hence this thread and its title.

Ok, you mean that the N/S american rsync sites listed on the above page do not have 11.3, or that
they do not work?
I can’t help with that, as I don’t live that side of the Atlantic. Just try more sites, from any
side of the world. The time taken for downloading will be less than the time you are using in the
forum and waiting
Do make sure you are using the correct syntax.

The sites are listed on the 11.3 page, but none of the rsync sites I’ve encountered so far download 11.3 code.

I guess I’m being lazy. I am using a bootable CD small LInux distro to install openSUSE. It’s a great system for what it is, but cut/paste is not part of the package. So typing in those sites by hand to a terminal emulator session is a pain. I don’t know what level the openSUSE code is - until I try to download. And the only way I know to stop the downloads is to terminate the terminal emulator- each time.
copy and paste is there it just does not use ctrl-V and ctrl-c because the are reserved for other things in a console. Use the menus or ctrl-shift-C and ctrl-shift-V.

Mouse in text mode does copy paste, since decades - in linux.
