What did you do exactly. I tried now to install the rstudio rpm from
rstudio.org (it is for 11.4 but installs well on 12.1 and also runs)
http://download1.rstudio.org/rstudio-0.94.110-x86_64.rpm

PC: oS 11.4 (dual boot 12.1) 64 bit | Intel Core i7-2600@3.40GHz | KDE
4.6.0 | GeForce GT 420 | 16GB Ram
Eee PC 1201n: oS 11.4 64 bit | Intel Atom 330@1.60GHz | KDE 4.7.3 |
nVidia ION | 3GB Ram

it hangs on the screen “license agreement required.” the rpm downloads fine, resolves all dependencies, but is not installing,
but says waiting for service to start.

Use the terminal to install it (by the way the “license agreement
required” has for sure nothing to do with rstudio it does not require
that you agree to any license, it seems your packagekit tries to install
something else?)

sudo zypper in rstudio-0.94.110-x86_64.rpm

this is for 64 bit, adjust the name if you use the 32 bit rpm.

installing packages on this system seems ok in general - never had an issue with RStudio; will try the terminal install instead. Thanks for the tip, the rpm -iv at the terminal worked.
