I have RStudio 1.2.5033-7.3 installed from the OSS repository. Now, RStudio 1.3 has been released last 27 May 2020. In order to update do I have to wait for the 1.3 release to be available on the OSS repository, or do I have to do something else? If I have to wait, which is the ordinary waiting-time? Thank you in advance.
You run Tumbleweed, thus, when it comes, it cpmes to the OSS repositiry.
Each new Tumbleweed snapshot first goes through a testing suite. I assume you have to wait for that succeeding. Things are not dropped in the repo within 24 hourse or so without looking at it. You expect a certain stabilty I guess.
Hi, welcome to these forums.
That is only 3 days ago. I’d wait a couple of weeks, then either
- contact the maintainer of the package by email
- or file a bugreport on bugzilla.opensuse.org ( same login as the forums ) asking for an updated version.
But, I have no idea how much work packaging the new version is, and then it needs to be tested/reviewed, so it might take a while.
Thank for your quick answer. I agree with you. My question does not derive from an urgent need of the RStudio’s last release, but from the intent of setting my Tumbleweed up in the right way, especially in regard of the R IDE’s updating procedure. Thanks again and best regards.
