RPMs

Hello,

Several years ago I had a SUSE and I remember installing RPMs was as easy as just one click.

Now I am trying to install anything in the newest SUSE 11 and I have problems. The answer of the Package Manager is “The XX.rpm was not found on the medium”.

Could anybody advice me how I can install that ?

Thanks,

R.

You should give a bit of info on what you are doing to install rpms.

Here’s some info about repositories: Repositories/11.0 - openSUSE-Community

In previous versions I could put rpms just anywhere.

Now, I guess, I should put them into proper place and add to repository. Where it should be stored ?

I am trying to add them but without result.

When I am trying to add it to repository he answers me that “package wasn’t found on the medium”.

I made a directory “rpms” at /home/myname/rpms. Go to Yast –> Software –> Software Repositories –> Add –> Local Directory –> Next –> Make a name in the top slot and fill the second slot like so: browse to /home/yourname/rpms. Put a cross in the option “Plain rpm directory” –> Next
