I see multiple RPM packages listed indicating that they will be installed in order to resolve dependencies.
The exact message I am seeing says:
“As this package is an extension to an already installed package, it is recommended it be installed”.
Within yast, I know how to look at a specific RPM to tell what other packages it requires, but how to I determine which currently installed package is causing yast to mark additional packages for installation?
They are all related to vmware tools. Looking thru all of the currently installed packages, I see none that appear to have anything to do with vmware. Here are the packages that yast is saying it wants to install:
Again, this list of packages above are not currently installed, but yast indicates it wants to install them to resolve dependencies and my question is how do I determine which currently installed package is causing this?
Any advice on how to check for this would be greatly appreciated.

In YaST Software Management select the RPM your interested in. then
click Dependencies – Check Now or make sure auto check is checked, this
will automatically check an rpm when you select it.
