root without superuser permissions

When I login on the server as root my password is accepted, but I do not get the normal superuser permissions.
Does anybody knows what’s happening?

Hello,

I do not quite understand how you decided to start your thread here, but this is the Dutch language part of the forums.

I will move this to Intsall/Boot/Login in the English part.

Moved.

Now for your problem.

Your desrciption is a bit short and does not provide much information.
To begin with, what version of openSUSE do you use.

Then “I do not get the normal superuser permissions.” is your conclusion, but you do not tell/show how you reached that conclusion. Please describe what you did, what you expected to happen and what happened instead.

Best is to prove what you say with copied/pasted lines from the terminal (if you are working with a terminal). When you do that, copy/paste between CODE tags in a post. You get the CODE tags by clicking on the # button in the tool bar of the post editor.

One more thing. Saying that you log in as root is without doubt be met here with posts that tell you NOT to do this. You did not tell if you loged in in the console or in the GUI, but loging in in the GUI as root should NEVER be done. On the console only in some special cases: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB%3ALogin_as_root

One reason that there have been no more replies is that NNTP users
haven’t seen the question and you didn’t quote it. Maybe it’s worth
reposting it.

You haven’t missed anything ass the oroiginal post was as vague as it could be:

Indeed. Nothing more can be said till he clarifies.
