Hi!
I’ve a server running an older dist and is planning a reinstall with openSUSE 12.1. However there is no driver for the RocketRaid 1740 controller avaiable on Highpoints web site.
There are drivers for <2.6 kernel but not for a 3.1 kernel. Some googling tells me that they will not update the driver to support newer kernels.
But, I found a nice thread at a Ubuntu forum ([SOLVED] HighPoint RocketRaid 2640 driver - Ubuntu Forums](http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11456793)) that says its possible to work around by patching the driver source.
Can anyone tell me if it should be possible to do something similar for a openSUSE 12.1 setup?
