Right plugins for the radiotime.com website?

Has anyone had any luck listening to streams from radiotime.com’s website? Are there any plugins for Linux music players for this site?

I can sometimes listen to the streams but often it just doesn’t work, and I’ve got all the codecs and multimedia stuff installed properly.

It did work for me using openSUSE 11.3 and Firefox 3.6.13. It seemed a little slow in pulling in the audio, but worked OK once it started playing. If you can not get it to work, it may be your multimedia setup. You need to read this thread first:

Multi-media and Restricted Format Installation Guide

If you think you have followed the guide properly, then I have a script file called mmcheck (Multimedia Check) you can use to confirm that fact. Message #40 has the most recent version of mmcheck:

MMCHECK - Check Your Multimedia in 10 Steps - Script File, as proposed by RedDwarf

I found a different radio station site that seemed to work better for me you might try:

Free Internet Radio - SHOUTcast Radio - Thousands of Free Online Radio Stations

Thank You,

Works for me too
But as James mentioned, it’s a bit ropey that site

Yeah I checked my multimedia stuff with that mmcheck script and it’s fine. Although what browser plugin do you guys use? I have VLC at the moment for most media types.

The site works for me sometimes too, but about half the time it doesn’t, which is really frustrating.

geckomediaplayer
it’s mentioned in my guide
