Reverting back to standard KDE 4.1 install

Well, I made the mistake of not reading any tutorials/tips/etc. and ended up just outright installing KDE 4.3, which has resulted in a lot of annoyances (none really that major to be honest). I hope this isn’t an insidiously dumb question, but what would be the best way to revert back the KDE 4.1 install that comes with 11.1, without (hopefully) breaking anything?

Cheers.

If I were you I would seriously think again. I just advised you in another thread about your repo’s and would suggest you follow that.
4.3 is light years ahead of 4.1

I can advise of how to do it but I’m going away today for 4 days

Indeed it is! My plan was to revert back to 4.1, then upgrade to 4.2, then upgrade to 4.3. Was that by chance a bad idea? Just curious.

I’ll still carry out what you suggested in the other thread. Thanks.

I would leave things as you have them. IIRC you have the factory repo which provides 4.3
Work with what you have for now. Rolling back is getting difficult because of all the Package Name changes.

You had your Update repo set to high priority.
Among other changes that were needed.

Work on that and see. But I’m away for a few days.

Alright. Thanks for the help and have fun.
