I have clicked on the 1 click install. However I can’t play DivX avi files or mp3’s.
Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Cheers.

Might be. I am having big problems after installing codecs too. K3b no longer sees my CD/DVD burner. Also have same problem on Gnome with Brasero.
i don’t know…
did the install complete? which link did you click exactly?
i use vlc which handles most formats (all formats i have ever tried)
its available in the packman repo, but you will have to install libdvdcss from the vlc repo if you want dvd playback.

Which openSUSE version are you using? What app are you using to playthe
divx and mp3 files? More info is needed.
Maybe this will help

as @ 69_rs_ss
more info would help
caf4926 Thank you for the link. I did a reinstall of openSUSE 11.1 and followed instruction at the link you posted and all is fine again.
System is now is able to detect my CD/DVD drive again.
There must be a problem with 1-Click install of restricted media codecs and the new openSUSE.
Just a heads up if you install the restricted media codecs with 1-Click install it will break your system.
@kr4ey
Well it is a little more complex. The problem occurs when users don’t understand how the repo’s work, which to enable permanently and so on…
It is a point under discussion among some of us in the forum. Hopefully, there will be something of an improvement. The HowTo I gave you to look at was step, hopefully in the right direction.
openSUSE 11.1 KDE 4.2 or 1 not sure it’s the latest version. I’m actually thinking of going back to KDE 3. KDE 4 has a long way to go I think.
I believe there is a certain amount of repos you need enabled before you can activate restricted formats.
Enlighten me please.
Cheers in advanced.

Using kde3 is fine, you just choose other from the option at install and you can choose kde3 from the list in Package Manager.
KDE4.1.3 is default on 11.1 install. It works fairly well.
