Restore System: Search For Lost Partitions

This is a live-action request for advice!

As I type this, I’m waiting (and waiting) (and waiting) for the Repair Tool Box, “Search For Lost Partitions” tool to stop running off of the install CD. I didn’t actually mean to do that (I meant to select "repair file system!) … … and I don’t see any way to abort it!!!

How to I make it stop? (You can insert your best Deanna Troi voice there, if you like: “make it STOP!”) Or do I just wait until sometime next week for this rascal to finish examining a THREE HUNDRED GIG partition, byte by byte . … ?

Thank you most kindly, but I think you missed the gist of my question, He Who Urinates On Winders™(r)(c)(sm).

I was wondering if it was safe to simply power down the machine while it was in the middle of that “Searching For Lost Partitions” thingy. But I finally decided just to yank the plug, went back into Parted Magic and did some more work there. See my post in another thread about the problem I’ve having now with /home not being mounted on bootup, but I answered my own question here. lol!

Sorry about that misunderstanding:)
