Resizing of applications into a single screen on startup - how to prevent?

OpenSuSE 13.2 with KDE.

I suspect this is something that cannot be changed but I have been surprised before so I thought it worth asking.

I have a rather large screen area across 6 monitors. Often I deliberately straddle an application, perhaps a browser window, across two or more screens. However, when I shut it down and then start it up again the system automatically forces the application onto just one monitor. Does anyone know how to stop this behavior?

My system is 3 screens across by two down so I have plenty of room to place things in unorthodox positions.

Drag the offending window to where you want it and have it resized to what you prefer.
Right click on the window’s title bar.
Left click on “More Actions”.
Left click on “Special Window Settings…”.
A new window will pop up. Left click on the “Size & Position” tab if it isn’t already on it.
Check mark the “Position” and left click “Remember” in the drop down list.
Left click on “Ok”.

If everything goes as it normally should, then this should work for you.

Linux never ceases to amaze me.

I think in this case it’s more of a KDE thing…
