resize partition still unsolve

I post this problem before that I unable to resize the partition during the installation . this time I get error

“Partition /dev/sda6 cannot be resized because the filesystem seem to be inconsistent”

can someone fix this before final of 11.1 . this problem been around since alpha. people seem to ignore this>:(

Heh…I doubt any of us here are likely to get the fix in, but you can certainly file a bug for the developers at the usual place.

Heh…I doubt any of us here are likely to get the fix in, but you can certainly maintain an updated bug report for the developers at the usual place.

Filesystem errors do occur from time to time. If it’s “inconsistent”, might just need to be formatted again along with any adjacent partitions.

Nobody is ignoring it, but we need you to get more involved with the debugging process. This way you are not only able to see how the developers are working hard at the issue, but you can also help them to solve it faster.

For example, I saw this problem first time with beta3 and I found a bug report already submitted and added my 2 cents to it:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=432958

When one aspect was resolved and the problems were still present in beta 4, I submitted 2 more reports:
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442318
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=442333

You can add your comments to these recent bugs reports, or you can file a new one, if you feel your bug is different from the ones I found.

The new partition manager can be quite confusing and I also had the same issue but I was able to fix it easily by simple deleting my previous partition but isn’t necessarily a solution to your problem.

Has this been solved by now?
I have both windows and openSuse on my desktop machine. I’d like to rezise two partitions. Unfortunately I get the above error. I don’t want to reformat my partitions so I hope that by now there is a fix …

Problem varies a bit. Can u give a bit of information:

  • can you describe the partition setup in words
  • plus post here the results of this command:
sudo /sbin/fdisk -l
  • plus describe what changes you want to make
  • plus reproduce here the exact error message and tell us what you are doing when you get the error message

Hi, I actually have the same problem

I get the same error: “Partition <xxxxx> cannot be resized because the filesystem seems to be inconsistent”

Here is my fdisk -l output:

If you have the same problem, then you are using the 11.1 Beta, that is
long out of beta, even out of maintenance :-?

Or are you using the current 12.2 Beta?

In that case, it can not be the same problem, so you should write your own
new thread.

And is <xxxxx> really consistent?
