Reset to Live CD settings

Hi! I had a machine with 11.3, and tested 11.4 live CD. It looked good, network worked and so did compiz. But then I installed, and I can’t see any wireless networks, the screen flickers and compis doesn’t work. Is there any way to simple reset all settings so that they become the live-cd settings?

Have you used the option on the liveCD to check the installation media?

From the installed system can you show us from a terminal, as *su -
*

lspci -nnk

Then boot from the liveCD, and the same from a terminal as *su - *(press for the password)
Indicate which is live and which is installed.

If this is a wireless card on the USB bus, also give us

lsusb

Some more general info on your hardware would be useful.

Ah, goody.

Here’s the output from the live CD-settings: lspci liveCD - Pastebin.com

Here they are for the installed OS: [Bash] lspci HD - Pastebin.com](http://pastebin.com/5cVAFgaa)

(I notice now that the monitor tend to flickr a bit with the live CD as well. And also that in the live CD-version, there is an icon in the taskbar that lets me choose wireless network. This isn’t present in the installed OS. )

Concerning the video problem,

Again, identical, so posting in the wireless forum is your way to a resolution.

The hardware detection system, I have been told is different between the the liveCD and the installer, although I have not been able to find out the differences, and they don’t show up here.

You did not mention, did you check the install media?

I notice now that the monitor tend to flickr a bit with the live CD as well.
I think the link I gave above is the best place to start.

And also that in the live CD-version, there is an icon in the taskbar that lets me choose wireless network. This isn’t present in the installed OS.
Which desktop are you using? (KDE, GNOME, or other?)
