I don’t know if I’m placing this in the right place but I have a suggestion for Opensuse developers. It’s very frustating when I’m downloading packages in yast and something fails and lose all I was downloading. It’s also complicated that I have to calculate how long the download of packages will last 'cause I can’t pause and resume it later. It would be very nice if yast package manager worked like a download manager allowing pause, resume, restart of failed downloads, preview of size, progress and time and had customization for what to do when something fails.
I have another request to. Opensuse is very good, it has everything all other big distros have and much more but there’s one thing I miss in it: “Remastersys”. Kiwi and suse studio don’t do the same. Remastersys works offline and turns your installed system into a live dvd that can be ran or installed anywhere. It also has the possibility of building the live cd/dvd including personal data and configuration.I would like to carry my opensuse installation with all its configs to another places with me and to share it with others. Can anyone create something like remastersys or adapt it to opensuse?
The developers don’t frequently visit the forums. The place to request new features is openFATE:

i like those ideas…(which could be used again or as a local cache for
other machines to use, via a local net)
but, are you aware that it is possible to tell YaST in advance to
download all needed files and then install? (that way, you won’t run
into the problem of a single file download failure wrecking an install)
do that with the info in post #2 of this thread
http://tinyurl.com/43xanwe
there are other options in YaST to (for example):
-
download all files but not install any (so if you had a failed
download you could manually fetch) -
establish a local repo (which could be used again or as a local cache
for other machines to use, via a local net) -
keep all downloaded files after the install
so, a lot of what you are missing is probably already available but,
none of them are easily (via GUI) available by clicking a radio button
in a YaST interface… (or maybe they are available, i’ve not looked
lately…and, it does change)…nose around some…
otherwise, as mentioned by another poster, FATE is the place to ask
(but, don’t ask for stuff already available)…

Thanks for showing me the way to openfate. I didn’t know it exists.
For anyone who lied these ideas, PLEASE, help me by voting on them on my requests on fate and sending the links to them to others.
Request about yast:

Request about remastersys:

(Specially about remastersys if anyone has doubt of how useful it would be and has time enough to try it, install ubuntu 10.x (don’t know if remastersys works on ubuntu 11.x) on virtaulbox or in a partition on your pc, config it whatever wya you want, install remastersys (from the link of developer), create a live dvd from your system and try it on another pc’s to see how good it works. It would very great if opensuse did the same!)
