Repository

Hi,

I am new to Tumblewee and confused with repositories that I should use , I need someone tell me witch repository from below list should remove or add to the list when I upgrade to tumbleweed.

1.Oss
2.Non-oss
3.Update
4.Src-oss
5.Src-non-oss
6.Debug
7.Contrib
8.JAVA
9.Upstream release aka. KR47 (KDE SC 4.7)
*Core packages
*Extra
*Unstable: Playground
10.Version: 11.4All of Packman
11.Version: TumbleweedAll of Packman
12.VLC VideoLan client
13.Mozilla
14.Wine
15.LibreOffice_Unstabl
16.Tumbleweed

TNX guys!!!

AFAIK all standard 11.4 repositories + Tumbleweed.

Additional repos: use preferably tumbleweed versions, but 11.4 should also work.
for example: you need only Packman Tumbleweed (Packman 11.4 is not needed), but if there is no tumbleweed version of particular repo (for example Wine or Virtualbox) - use 11.4 version.

All repos should have equal priority.

When openSUSE 12.1 comes out, you will have to change all 11.4 repos to 12.1 repos. Tumbleweed repos will stay unchanged (probably  ).

Hi,

Thank you very much!

Just for confirmation It seems that I keep enable all repos that I mention at the beginning of the post except 9,10 and 15, is it right?or can keep these repos too??or should disable more repos?

You don’t need ALL the repos enabled.
For example src repos are needed only if you want to compile your own openSUSE.
So for core Tumbleweed system you’ll need only OSS, NON-OSS, Contrib and Update repos from standard 11.4 set (plus Tumbleweed of course).

For other members who come across this page and/or this problem, it might help to view this tutorial: openSUSE Forums - howto upgrade openSUSE 11.4 to Tumbleweed. Repos are covered there.

Hi,

Thanks a lot!!!
CLOSED.

It all boils down to repos translation. All repos used from 11.4 will have to point to 12.1 repo`s after the version is released (yes, ALL of them)
