repository server need to be FTP?

My network connction does not allow for passive ftp. Does yast repository ftp access need to be passive?

I am using vsftp as the server on opensuse 11.2

Currently in order for this to work I have to open a temp rule to allow passive ftp.

Although I haven’t tried it, because I can browse the repository using HTTP, I assume there should not be a problem configuring YAST’s repository source to use HTTP.
