Downloaded 32bit iso, verified and burned to DVD. Tried doing a fresh install but when booting from DVD I get a DOS type window (red) that says Repository not found. Using ‘check media’ option I get the same DOS type window that says ‘Insert CD 1’. ??? Burned another DVD with same results…
Very disappointing.
This box is not connected to internet and will use a wifi card after installation. I had trouble getting network manager to run with 11.2 so waited for 11.3. Guess I may have to give up on SUSE. 
I looked on boards for something similar but could not find anything. Am I the only one that is getting this error?
Try this: reboot with the DVD in the drive and then select the “check media” option instead of the “install” option. It could be that the burned disk may have errors.
Update:
Checked media source from other machine (laptgop) DVD shows no errors. Tried same test on box and recieve error ‘This is not an openSUSE disc’. The box has an old Sony DVD-RW(701). I am going to try and get this running sooner or later… I am not giving up. Will try LiveCD first??
Indeed, try a live CD first. If that runs, it will allow you to install anything. It will also make clear whether the wifi card is recognized. Note, some cards do need a third party driver, some don’t. You’ll know when running a live CD.
2nd update:
Install went well using LiveCD. Now I can’t figure out why Network Magager will not start upon boot. I have to manualy connect to my AP everytime I boot. Very annoying.
Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if I need to start new thread in ‘Network’ group. Don’t really know how to put it in words…
I haven’t seen any other posts with this problem.
Does your network connection get established once you log in, or do you also have to manually connect it there?
Oh, and I’m assuming we’re talking about a “wired” connection (eth0), right?
This is for Wireless connection… I was so ‘blind’ I did not see the option for ‘Network Manager’ or ‘ifup’. I selected the ‘Network Manager’ button and everything is now great! I am very happy now and will be playing with it in more detail now. Thank you all for your help.
