Which repository does supply updates for kernel?
Your original kernel comes from repository 1 while updates come from repository 2 (both automatically added in for you with each install) and you can add in repository 3 if you feel daring.1) http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/1?.?/repo/oss/
2) http://download.opensuse.org/update/1?.?/
3) Index of /repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard
All three options above will use YaST / Software / Software Management to install your kernel. I personally use my bash script called S.A.K.C. to compile any kernel version I want to use.
S.A.K.C. - SUSE Automated Kernel Compiler - Version 2.60 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums
You get your kernels from here: The Linux Kernel Archives
And I have another bash script that can fetch any kernel released since 2005 here: S.G.T.B. - SuSE Git Kernel Tarball Creator - Version 1.78 - Blogs - openSUSE Forums
Thank You,
