Repo woes!

A couple of days now…
Zypper ref stalls:

Repository ‘Apps Update’ is up to date.
Repository ‘Extra’ is up to date.
1Repository ‘KDE 4.4.4 packages (openSUSE_11.2)’ is up to date.
1Repository ‘QT’ is up to date.
2File ‘/repodata/repomd.xml’ not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/ospro/openSUSE_11.2

And YAST:

File ‘/repodata/repomd.xml’ not found on medium ‘http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/ospro/openSUSE_11.2

Has the repo been moved?

here is zypper lr

Does not seem to exist any more, if it ever did?

It’s a users own repo by the URL
You need to find an alternative for what it provided.
And why are you using a QT repo?

Hmm TY Caf… It looked a bit queer to me too! I thought it was due to the last time I had to re-jig, " kde 4.4 Extras" etc. It has never choked before… I’ll just ditch it…
As for QT, IIRC, something I wanted needed a newer QT, and I must I guess have installed via YAST, and accepted the new repo. Should I ditch that one too?

It shouldn’t be needed but you’ll find out if there are issues if you do this:

Disable it
Then go to Software Management and view by repo kde4 distro stable
And do Update all in this list Unconditionally

Thanks again Caf…
I googled “repo ospro” it has a phoronix testing suite in it and some other scraps, I tried to install the test suite ages ago, I must have OK’ed the repo and not disabled after use…

No problem - Hope all is good with you

Slightly off topic, but on another (related) issue I got some handy advice from Tacit on the IRC #suse. I thought I would stick it in here in case any lost souls are browsing the forum

Adding packman repo using a mirror URL with the file packman.repo at the end, like this:
zypper addrepo --repo http://anorien.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/opensuse/packman/suse/11.2/packman.repo
(using info from here):
Repositories/Packman - openSUSE Community Wiki
In fact, for some reason I did not get to find out actually points to the Austrian or Belgian repo… (??) dunno why.

To ACTUALLY use the mirror closest, use command thus:

zypper ar --check --refresh Index of /mirrors/opensuse/packman/11.2 packman

NB The SPACE before packman and no .repo file…

It’s due to the fact that packman doesn’t use a mirrorbrain redirector
like download.opensuse.org does. The .repo file contains the mentioned
url and adding it via zypper (-r) …].repo will, counterintuitively,
not use the mirror you wanted.

Glad this was solved.

With kind regards,
Andreas Stieger

Oh yawn…
So got my packman repo working nicely from a UK mirror and guess what? Now it seems no longer available:

PackageKit Error repo-not-available: File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://anorien.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/opensuse/packman/11.2/'

From updater, and:

stephen@home:~> su -c 'zypper up'
Password:
File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://anorien.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/opensuse/packman/11.2/'

Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i/?] (a):

From zypper.

Is something major happening to packman? support for 11.2 discontinued?

Looks like just the 11.3 is there

use
Index of /suse/11.2

Yes I had a look… it was there yesterday I promise!
