Happy New Year!
I just had to do a reinstall of 11.3 when plasma refused to run. Now I’m noticing that applications are missing from (pacman) repo, but when I browse the repo with firefox, the rpms are there, they’re just not being found by a yast search… Both mplayer and kdelnive are not found by yast. There are probably others…
Hi
Try a forced refresh using zypper from the command line;
sudo zypper ref --force
zypper se mplayer
PS, Happy New Year
Hmm. A few days back, I was surprised to see several missing 64bit newer versions (only i586 newer) in Packman via Yast for several multimedia packages. I must recheck to see if it’s a lag for 64bit, or a real problem.

did you use YaST to add the packman repo to your new install? (packman
is not enabled by default)

What if there were no hypothetical questions?
I seem to have run into a similar problem.
I’ve just re-installed openSUSE 11.3 after a brief bout of distro hopping and there seems to be quite a few 64bit packages missing from the packman repo’s.
(I tried several mirrors to check if it was a sync issue)
Is anyone else seeing this at the moment?
Cheers,

Search the forum for it - there indeed seems to be a problem with 64bit packages being missed in Packman since a few days. I suppose the Packmen and -women are working on this, so just be patient.
