Replacing GNOME with Xfce

Hi!

I have been looking to go with Xfce 4.10 and decided to install it on a standard GNOME installation (12.2 live CD).
Everything is working good, I’ve set the defaults to lightdm / xfwm.

The only issue is that GTK3 apps (therefore all system config, etc. guis) do not have styling at all, but have a win32 look and gigantic paddings.

Is it possible to make those apps use GTK2 styling? Or install versions of them that ship with the Xfce spin? I don’t mean all GTK3 stuff, but at least YaST and Transmission.

I would like to avoid reinstalling from DVD.

Thanks,
zod

Try going to your /home/user/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml
and delete

xsettings.xml

then logout and login
