I would like to build a nice SuSe box to replace Windows-7 Media Center
for over-the-air TV recording. I use a Happauge TV tuner card, so I
would need drivers for that. My requirements are pretty basic.
I record shows, strip the commercials, and either stream them to my
TV or burn them as DVD disks to watch on my family DVD player.
What software is currently best-in-breed for doing this on SuSe ??
Is the comskip utility available on Linux ?

BTW, these forums are about openSUSE, not SuSe.
Packages are available through the Packman repo. Kodi was previously known as XBMC, and has it’s own repositories for plugins / add-ons.
Sorry about the spelling - I normally use Windows not WINDOWS
I have not tried anything yet - just looking for suggestions.
What features do you use ? TV over-the-air ? Burn DVD ? ComSkip ?

Well, it is not only about the spelling of the word SUSE, but that it is
a different word, openSUSE, indicating a different product. SUSE is a
commercial product, openSUSE is not. And both have different, separate
forums.
Thus, if you are really using SUSE, not openSUSE, we can not help you
here. You must go “there”

I used mythtv some years ago for watching TV, till my card broke down
and I bought a dedicated box instead. A feature mythtv had and which I
miss is that it could play back at a percent of the original speed, with
correct sound. Say, stop the tv live, then play it again 10% faster to
catch up with the live.
