I’m always trying new things ouut. If it aint broke, you aint doin it right, is kind of the creed I live by. Having said that, my favorite Network managers are (K)NetworkManager and wicd. I have never had a problem with wicd. I have seen it be more reliable than (K)NetworkManager. Now connman I can’t stand. I have never gotten that to work. It seems to mess with the routing tables or something so that I can’t get online. I end up having to uninstall it to get things working again.
So as to the OP’s question…Try things out. See how you like it. Only you can make the decision. Have fun.
