I used this to install the fann libraries. I tried to add this repository to an opensuse 12.3 install and I get a message that the URL cannot be found. I don’t know if it doesn’t exist anymore or if I am doing something wrong. I copied the repo name and URL by going into the older install, selecting the repo, and selecting edit. I copied the URL and tried to use it with add in the 12.3 install. I need to install the fann runtime and devel libraries, so I need to get this to work.
Can anyone point me in the right direction with this?
Thanks, that worked just fine. I did some searching but I was not able to find a list of repositories that might contain a specific application. Searches mostly returned rpm files. I always find rpm lists confusing and difficult to figue out the exact rpm that is needed from the dozens to hundreds of files returned from the search. Is there a standard way to find the name and url of repositories that contain specific applications. The opensuse downloads page had a list of repositories, but the list seems to be organized by application. Fann wasn’t on the list, yet a repository exists. It would be nice to know the best way to find such things.
I will upgrade to 13 at some point. I tend to not upgrade unless I have to because there always seem to be compatibility issues. As long as it works, I tend to leave it alone. Not sure that’s the best approach but I have tended in that direction for a while. I gave up on Ubuntu partly for that reason.
Have you tried https://software.opensuse.org/search
that search engine returns not only rpm files but a list of extra repositories, it also alows you to add extra repo’s to your system for yast/zypper search and install.
that search returns a fann package on an extra repo those repositories are not unstable https://software.opensuse.org/package/fann
but you should note most 12.x repository might be removed soon
