Removing packages

Hi. When you install a package, for example vlc, YaST will install some other packages “to resolve dependencies”, right? But if you then want to uninstall vlc, the automatic installed packages that came with the installation wont be marked to be deleted. Correct me if I’m wrong  But is this something I should worry about and try to find the other packages and delete them to? Or how does this work? If not, there will be many unnecessary packages installed after a while if I install and uninstall many programs. Just wondering  thanks

Basically yes, you are correct.
Don’t worry about it unless you have very limited HD space in root!?

Okay, I don’t have very limited HD space but are there packages that can hurt my computer? I’m thinking about for example audio codecs that in the wrong combination might result in not hearing any audio?

No

At least all will be well if you follow this
