Removing icon in bottom panel of KDE

I am runnin OS 13.2 / KDE. On the left hand side of the bottom panel are icons, which are not panel widgets, but launchers fro various applications. There is “Application Launcher Menu”, “Show the Desktop” etc. How do I remove one of these icons from the bottom panel ? How do I add a launcher to this area in the bottom panel ?

Click on the toolbox icon on the right edge of the panel to open the settings toolbox.
While it is open, you will have a “Remove xxx” entry in each applet’s right-click menu, and you’ll also be able to remove one by clicking the ‘X’ in the mouse-hover popup.

How do I add a launcher to this area in the bottom panel ?

Some possible ways:

  • Right-click on an entry in the application menu and choose “Add to Panel”
  • Drag an application from the application menu and drop it onto the panel
  • Drag an executable or .desktop file from your file manager and drop it onto the panel
  • Select “Add Widgets” and add an “Icon” plasmoid
