Hi everybody, since a few days I have this warning when updating:
Problem: problem with installed package gegl-0_3-lang-0.3.34-2.1.noarch
Solution 1: install gegl-0_3-lang-0.3.34-1.1.noarch (with vendor change)
openSUSE --> obs://build.opensuse.org/home:opensuseitalia
Solution 2: keep obsolete gegl-0_3-lang-0.3.34-2.1.noarch
This is due to the fact that I have the opensuseitalia repository installed.
I do not want to change vendor so I am presently replying with option 2.
However, I also noticed that gegl was updated to v0.4. So I wanted to remove gegl-0_3 to avoid the conflict, but I get this:
cristiano@xmper8q3 ~]$ LANG=C sudo zypper rm gegl-0_3
Loading repository data...

The following application is going to be REMOVED:
"GNU Image Manipulation Program"
The following 12 packages are going to be REMOVED:
gegl-0_3 gegl-0_3-lang gimp gimp-help gimp-help-it gimp-lang gimp-plugin-aa gimp-plugins-python inkscape-extensions-gimp libgegl-0_3-0 libmypaint libmypaint-lang
12 packages to remove.
After the operation, 175.1 MiB will be freed.
Why is gimp and the other programs going to be removed if I remove gegl-0_3?
If I look at the dependencies of gimp I see that it is using the new gegl v0.4 (as I would have expected):
cristiano@xmper8q3 ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/gimp|grep gegl
libgegl-0.4.so.0 => /usr/lib64/libgegl-0.4.so.0 (0x00007fbbd542c000)
libgegl-npd-0.4.so => /usr/lib64/libgegl-npd-0.4.so (0x00007fbbd5224000)
So why does zypper want to remove it?
