remote ssh login as root no longer works after update

I received a massive update for Tumbleweed today and since then it is no longer possible to do a remote login via ssh as root to the Tumbleweed system. This still worked fine last Friday, so the update must have caused this. I have looked through the logs, but found no useful information (only very cryptic messages from audit that left me none the wiser). I have looked for changed configuration files, but found none so far. I didn’t find anything useful on the web either.

This is the error message I get:

ssh -v tumbleweed

I am out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Is this the same issue as:

Yes, this indeed appears to be the same issue. The workaround mentioned there works for me. I guess I didn’t look far enough back in the list of threads. Thanks!
