krdc
which calls rdesktop

krdc in KDE4 is pretty broken in my opinion though (bad design… the
worst kind of bug).

thanks guys

Hi,

Of course VNC can also be used, although server components would need installing.

I find the Nomad version of xrdp (when installed and run as per the link given by caf4926) to be very good for running server 2003 in openSUSE 11.1. Vnc is a bit of a dud in openSUSE so far, at least for me, and certainly IMO not anywhere as good as the Nomad version of Xrdp.

Hey swerdna, in your tutorial for rdp you wrote:

“Then for Allowed Services, look in the drop-down list labelled Allowed Services and locate Remote Desktop Protocol. Click to “Add” it into the list.”

I couldn’t find this in the drop down list. Is this now covered under Yast > Network Services > Remote Administration(VNC)?

Edit: Ooops. My bad. I hadn’t installed the recommended pkgs yet. I have it now.

That can be so confusing

Interesting I’ll check that out.

I use KRDC for RDP and VNC with no issues, ok maybe a few little ones, but generally no problems.
