Reinstallation of Suse 11.1

Reinstallation of Suse 11.1

I seem to have cocked up my Suse installation.

I have the machine as detailed below and I installed Suse 11.1 to dual boot with the existing Windows Vista. I used MBR as advised but chose KDE4. All was well. I hated KDE4 and managed to change to KDE3.5.

All was working perfectly. i had to fiddle to try and get the DVD to run commercial DVD and seem to have cocked things up.

I booted to KDE4 and got to TWM.

The dual booting is working and windows is working.

Can I re-install the Suse 11.1?

I have the purchased version but assume same as the downloaded.

Any advice on how to re-install the software.

The partitions have been done and reformatted to ext3.

149GB [160GB]

2.OS(C) 60.75GB NTFS Healthy (sysytem, Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition.
3.2.01GB Primary Partition

Thanks

I doubt if much is broken and would be very suprised if a reinstall was required to fix things.
You say “i had to fiddle to try and get the DVD to run commercial DVD and seem to have cocked things up.”
Can you be a bit more specific?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

The original thread was
Hardware
DVD will not play a commercial DVD (Multi-page thread 1 2 3)

I ended up with a pale blue screen, with a curser, it was TWN.

As a newbie - not been there - so I just went into it again, found and exit button, this took me to the login panel and on the left bottom TWM was ticked, so I ticked KDE3 and all is well I hope. So you were right.

Thanks
