regression AMD Ryzen + nvidia noteobook USB-C stopped working after new snapshot

I do have an Asus A17 Tuf Gaming, with Ryzen 4600H and nvidia 1660Ti Mobile, this worked fine with Tumbleweed for over a year, even so the USB-C monitor is only recognized on boot.

yesterday I ran zypper dup and 4550 updates where installed over night. I restarted the notebook and the support for the USB-C conenction to the nvidia card is gone. HDMI is still working.

@localhost:~> uname -a

dmesg -tail on connect with the USC to HDMI + 3 USB-A adapter, (still works with windows), with HDMI cable to monitor connected.

Try booting previous kernel before updates - does it work?

There is only the last kernel and that has also no reaction now

uname -a
Linux -TUF-Gaming-FA706IU-FA706IU 5.14.0-1-default #1 SMP Mon Aug 30 07:01:36 UTC 2021 (dc06e24) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

usually after Grub the second screen comes up, but now nothing.

And there should be DP-1-1

but not to see any more in xrandr

@localhost:~> xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 5088 x 3240, maximum 16384 x 16384
eDP connected 1920x1080+3168+2160 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 382mm x 215mm

HDMI-A-0 connected 3840x2160+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 941mm x 529mm

the noveau driver is not loaded any more?

@localhost:~> sudo lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 vga

        Kernel driver in use: amdgpu

So error is: nouveau does not load.

I just booted from Kubuntu 21.04 live

and sudo lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 vga

as opposed to the new TW snapshot where nouveau will not load.
Seeing all the reddit post, the problem is widesprea and I would change my title to: nouveau broken on Tumbleweed

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-nouveau/-/issues/507

sudo modeprobe nouveau
fixes the issue,

But that shouldn’t happen

No nouveau in boot image?

Nouveau doesn’t load. It is installed but not loading,

Problem wasn’t fixed with todays updates.

I do

sudo init 3
sudo modeprobe nouveau
sudo init 5

then I can use all screens again.
On my combo, the nvidia driver needs to load on boot, otherwise I cannot use the USB-C screen. Simply logout and login of X is not enough.

reinstalled 2020-10 system and updated to 2021-11 Snapshot, problem solved.
