I go to register and all I get is the same window over and over…it keeps coming back to this window.
I tried it with the firewall off, but the only option that does not keep it repeating over and over, is cancel, then it highlights to do it later. So I am unable to register.

Never registered with Novell to my knowledge but I get the updates anyway.
It’s not necessary.
Just use Online Update - Not the Configuration.
You configure sources via Software Repositories
Had the same issue with an upgrade from 11.1 on a machine running kde3.5.
Personally, I just added the repo with the name openSUSE-11.2-Update and
pointed it to http://download.opensuse.org//update/11.2/ (based on another
machine that I’d done a fresh install on) and all was/is good.
