Reformating Then Installing?

I want to know before I reformat is it possible to just have only Linux installed on a Desktop without having association with windows anywhere on my system. If I can I would like to know what files I should save such as drivers or what not for my desktop or if It does not matter and I can download Linux compatible drivers.

Well I appreciate the help!

There’s no need ti have windows to run Linux.
Just pop in the dvd and choose install when it asks you where just let it use the whole drive and the partition it suggested.
Depending on your hardware you hopefully won’t need any additional drivers.
Bit more hardware info needed here in order to help

Ok so to double make sure before I format I can install Linux on a clean Hard Drive and it will be fully functional? This is my first time using Linux and I was told this is the easiest and most user friendly Distro. So I apologize if the questions are to n00b.

No probs we’ve all been noobs at one time
To be absolutely sure can you post what hardware you have:
motherboard
graphics card
sound card
etc
Normally there are no problems you can also check your hardware here

The only files you have to save are your personal files, like documents.

If you want to see how your hardware will work with suse, download the Live CD. It runs from the CD drive and doesn’t touch your hard drive or windows installation.
