Reconnect dsl/pppoe connection

Hi, I get Internet via an Ethernet cable. The connection is dsl/pppoe. The problem is that after some time, if the network connection is not used, it disconnects. The connection can be restarted only by restarting the computer. This is very annoying. I have not found any way to restart the connection. The dsl connection can not be found anymore in the graphical interface after disconnecting. I have SUSE 12.2. Please help to solve the problem. I would like to have a solution, which provides automatic (or easy manual) reconnection.

I know little about DSL connectivity, but the YaST > Network Devices > DSL utility allows you to set the ‘Idle Time’ and ‘Dial on Demand’ when configuring. Did you do that?
