I’m looking to get a wireless mouse and keyboard but I want to make sure it’ll work well with openSUSE 11.2. Anyone using one now that’s great?
Check the HCL too
Hardware - openSUSE
Thanks, I’ll check those out but I’m also wondering real-world test-wise if anyone here has anecdotes/experiences they’re willing to share and any they’d recommend, or say to stay away from.
Unfortunately, my keyboard is 10yrs old:)
But it just works
Sorry I can’t be more help. I was looking at Cherry recently

Never heard of them. Are they big in the UK?
Hi,
Amazon.com: Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110 (967561-0403): Electronics
I use this with my desktop at school. I use my desktop as a media center with my 32" tv, so having a cordless system works out real well. The receiver can be plugged in via usb or with an adapter that comes with it for ps/2 and it’s long enough to run it behind a desk and out of the way. It’s as easy to connect as hitting the reset button on the receiver, then the reset button on the mouse, then doing the same with the keyboard. Works flawlessly for me.
EDIT: The range on mine is about 10 feet. Here are some reviews on the keyboard - good and bad (mostly good :))

Also, the keyboard and mouse don’t completely turn off so I go through a new set of batteries probably once a month.
Take Care,
Ian
They were promoting them thru Linux Format. They make a Linux Board I understand.
Thanks, I’ll check that out. I assume you’re using 11.2 with it?
Used 11.1 and 11.2 with it. Both worked out of the box with the keyboard and mouse just using the usb part of the receiver.
Take Care,
Ian
The only problem is they don’t sell that anymore. Now they have the “Logitech Wireless Desktop MK 300”.
And no idea if it’ll work with openSUSE, but I like the fact that this one claims the battery lasts 3 years (unless it’s a typo):

The only issue is that it works on 2.4ghz which is what my router uses, so there might be interference.
